On this cover of The New Yorker dated May 14,2012, Bob Stake pays tribute to the Belgian surrealist painter René Magritte. He uses the red tie and bowler hat from the painting "The Son of Man" in the self-portrait undertaken by Magritte, but the apple that hid his face is replaced here by a cloud. The original painting is in the beautiful Magritte Museum in Brussels. This artwork is great for housewarming presents and for collectables.
